The Challenge
Joerns previously relied on a paper-based system for sling ordering, which relied on the customer knowing the exact sling type required in advance. This led to slings being ordered in error and customers and patients having to wait longer for delivery. Overall, the paper-based system was delaying the sales process and hindering the customer experience.
The Solution
Joerns approached Traffic to design and build an online ordering portal. Following a series of consultations with Joerns and a team of NHS consultants, Traffic created a MYSQL-based secure online portal for clinicians to order prescription-based slings.

Commenting on the launch of the Sling Selector, Tom Bulpitt, Marketing Manager – UK, Netherlands & Export at Oxford, said:
“The Sling Selector will provide our customers with a quick and easy way of identifying the most suitable slings for their patient. We’re confident it will become an invaluable tool for anyone working in the area of patient handling and moving. The project was quite intricate and complex but Traffic understood our specific requirements from start to finish and worked flexibly to deliver on time.”
